Date & Time

Description

One of the most significant problems facing today's diverse workforce is that of exclusion—both the reality experienced by many and the perception of even more employees that they are not viewed by leadership as an integral part of the organization. Despite progress in increasing the representation of diverse groups in academia, it is the exclusion of these groups from circles of influence in the organization that keeps them from fully contributing to and benefiting from their involvement in the workplace. - Understand the complexity of inclusion in academia. - Define "justice" in the arena of DEIJ, and provide examples in academic medicine. - Discuss mechanisms to apply inclusivity to participants' own daily interactions. - Discuss mechanisms to foster a more inclusive and just environment within your institution.
